About ARKeX

ARKeX is a geophysical service company for the oil, gas and mining exploration industries providing extraordinary solutions for some of the most challenging geophysical problems faced by exploration companies throughout the world.

Our technology, processes and experience deliver value throughout the exploration cycle helping explorationists to gain a complete picture and a better understanding of subsurface geology.

Using a multi-disciplinary and integrated approach, ARKeX delivers invaluable geological information to answer today's exploration challenges.

Acquisition

ARKeX acquire, process and interpret gravity gradiometry data in both airborne and marine environments for the oil, gas and mining exploration industries. Depending on the application the service is delivered using our proprietary BlueQube or G-Qube service offering.

BlueQube

BlueQube is an ultra high resolution airborne/marine imaging tool that can provide an improved picture of your subsurface geology.

Incorporating data from a number of instruments (including Gravity Gradient Imaging (GGI), conventional gravimetry, magnetic data, digital terrain mapping (LiDAR), bathymetry, and digital video), BlueQube enhances this data with patented processing, inversion and interpretation techniques.

It is a true answer product that delivers real solutions to the challenges faced by the exploration industry. Whether you are grappling with seismic imaging problems, complex geology or sparse 2D seismic, BlueQube can add an invaluable new perspective to your knowledge of the subsurface. Find out more

G-Qube

G-Qube uses the same advanced gravity gradiometry technology as BlueQube, but also incorporates state of the art conventional gravity measurements. G-Qube offers all that conventional airborne gravity provides but with the enhanced bandwidth and resolution capabilities of gravity gradiometry.

This makes G-Qube an ideal exploration tool in frontier areas; high resolution, high bandwidth data at an affordable price. Find out more

R&D

ARKeX is in the process of building its own bespoke gravity gradiometer, the EGG (Exploration Gravity Gradiometer). The EGG is the next generation of gravity gradiometer systems using state of the art superconducting technology. Once available the EGG will be an order of magnitude more sensitive than current instruments enabling a wider range of geologies to be surveyed in greater detail. Find out more

Conventional Gravity and Magnetic

In addition to its Gravity Gradiometry services ARKeX also process and interpret conventional marine/airborne gravity and magnetic data. The analysis of gravity and magnetic data, in conjunction to seismic, helps reduce interpretational uncertainties. Used at regional or basin scale, conventional gravity and magnetic data can add significant geological information to any exploration. Find out more

Data Services

With one of the most extensive data libraries available, ARKeX offers data for licensing on both an exclusive and non-exclusive basis; data includes both onshore and offshore conventional gravity and magnetic data plus gravity gradiometry data.

ARKeX is also a data broker for several seismic companies and acts as a release agent for a number of government agencies.

Alongside it's extensive data library ARKeX jointly runs FieldBank, a potential field data storage bank allowing exploration companies to completely outsource their potential field data management needs and give staff secure access to the data online, 24/7. Find out more

Our History

Founded in 2004, ARKeX is a spin out from a collaboration project between Oxford Instruments and ARK Geophysics (a specialist in gravity geophysics, who ARKeX later acquired in 2007). The company was set up to commercialise the idea of a superconductive gravity gradiometer that would give unprecedented sensitivity, resolution and stability and deliver high resolution data to the exploration industry. Between 2002 and 2005, and with early support from Shell, Anadarko Petroleum and Amerada Hess, the value of the technology was proven and ARKeX was formed.

ARKeX soon became fully operational using room temperature gravity gradiometers whilst continuing to develop the in house superconductive Explorational Gravity Gradiometer (EGG). Now with 80 people and offices in Cambridge and Sherington (UK) and Houston (USA), ARKeX continues to grow with customers ranging from small independents to large multi-national oil companies.
