ARKeX flies airborne geophysical surveys for oil, gas and mineral exploration worldwide. We build instruments, conduct surveys, process and interpret the data. We are a young company with good funding and an ambitious business plan. We are looking for candidates who will thrive in a demanding environment where their personal contribution will be critical to the team's success. We currently have three offices in Cambridge (UK), Sherington (UK) and Houston(USA). In additon we have a number of staff that work in the field all over the world.
We are seeking to fill the following positions:
Field Geophysicist
Job Overview:
Work within a team of geophysical technicians, aircraft/vessel engineers and pilots/captains on airborne or marine geophysical survey crews. Acquire and process marine or airborne gravity gradient data as well as complementary data sets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, calibrate and when necessary, repair acquisition instrumentation in the field
- Undertake in-field quality control processing of gravity gradient, GPS, magnetormeter and laser ranging data
- Participate in the field acquisition projects as required including mobilization / demobililization, survey planning, client liaison, and liaison with the aircraft/vessel operator
- Maintain effective communications with ARKeX UK Office
- Contribute to the documentation of field procedures and survey reports
- Be an active part of a team developing equipment and methods for acquiring gravity gradient and complimentary data sets
