EGG - Exploration Gravity Gradiometer

Technology does not stand still and ARKeX is developing the next generation of gravity gradiometers, the EGG. An evolution of technology originally developed for the European Space Agency, the EGG has been re-engineered for terrestrial-based applications.

The EGG operates at 4 degrees above absolute zero (-269°C) and is maintained vertical by a state-of-the-art stabilized platform. With its unique technical properties and innovative design the EGG sets new standards in gravity gradiometry technology.

With a target sensitivity of 1E/rt Hz the EGG will be almost an order of magnitude more sensitive than current systems. The increased resolution will allow even more geologic settings to be imaged with clarity.

The EGG is undergoing final laboratory testing ahead of full trial deployment in 2008.
