Geophysics Software Engineer

Job Overview:

You will be part of the Software Development team with the primary objective of developing software to support ARKeX data acquisition, processing and interpretation services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test and maintain software for acquisition, processing, interpretation, integration and presentation of data from ARKeX 's own instrumentation, public domain sources and customer databases.
  • Develop an understanding of the mathematical, physical and geophysical basis of the algorithms used in the acquisition, processing and interpretation activities. As appropriate, contribute to data analysis and algorithm development for these activities, with the aim of providing ARKeX customers with the best possible results.
  • Gain an understanding of the existing ARKeX software architecture, code base and tools, and make efficient use of these where appropriate.
  • Ensure that software written is robust, efficient and conforms to ARKeX coding, testing and documentation procedures. Also, to contribute to development of these procedures.
  • Ensure that all software written is entered into the company source code control and backup systems.
  • Help foster a structured approach to software development and deployment within the group.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Ideally you will have 3-5 years software development experience
  • A physics/mathematics background
  • C++/ C Sharp / dot.NET
  • Linux experience desirable

Technical Support Manager

Job Overview:

Ensure ARKeX aircraft and instrumentation is fully functional with a systematic quality assurance process in place for maintenance and support. Responsible for technical support staff

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure instrumentation packages on all aircraft are operating within specifications and have a rigorous maintenance and qc program in place.
  • Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and sub contractors on technical issues regarding the performance of the aircraft and instrumentation packages.
  • Ensure survey mobilisations; including the calibration and testing procedures, run smoothly and according to a documented plan.
  • Implement and review qc procedures in a structured manner so best practices are shared between all crews.
  • Liaise closely with the engineering team to ensure the roll out of instruments is done in an operationally efficient manner.
  • Review crew productivity and data quality issues with the intent for improving operational efficiency.

Business Development Manager - EAME

Job Overview:

You will be required to work within the Sales group to identify and develop business opportunities within Europe, Africa, and Middle East region and secure gravity gradiometry surveys for current and future gradiometry instrumentation. You must possess the ability to plan and prioritise business development activities to drive sales leads and opportunities for the regional sales team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the V.P Sales, drive the business development strategy to meet the sales targets for Europe, Africa, and Middle East
  • Identify and develop suitable regions/countries for gradiometry surveys.
  • Have a working knowledge of the key exploration companies exploring within the Region
  • Develop sales leads and opportunities for the regional sales team.
  • Understand the business requirements for working/operating within the chosen countries.
  • Contribute to the sales process by developing and discussing contractual terms and conditions for all services provided by ARKeX
  • Maintain key client relationships; ensure client enquiries are responded to promptly and effectively.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential

  • A degree in Geology, Geophysics or Geoscience
  • Excellent geophysical/geological understanding and working practises
  • The ability to explain the technical and economic value of solutions to Oil & Gas companies
  • The ability to work alone and build relationships with potential clients in remote locations

Highly desirable

  • Ideally you will have at least 5 years experience in geophysical/geological sales
  • Ideally you will have at least 5 years experience in EAME through operations, data processing or sales
  • Previous Oil Industry experience
  • Knowledge of French or Arabic language

Interpretation Geophysicist/Geologist

The successful candidate will be able to work without supervision while developing feasibility studies as well as geologic models. In addition, you must be familiar with building geologic models using seismic, well logs, and potential field data. Experience within the oil and gas industry would be considered extremely useful and knowledge of the geology associated with oil/gas development within the continental US would be highly regarded. You should be capable of working within a small processing and interpretation team; and should be comfortable presenting feasibility models to our customers in a business environment. The position requires some travel in order to present feasibility studies to current and potential customers; as well as attendance at various conferences.

Project Geophysicist

Job Overview:

Lead an airborne geophysical field crew consisting of geophysicists, aircraft engineers and pilots. Acquire and process airborne gravity gradient data as well as complementary data sets.

Including:

Operate, calibrate and, when necessary, repair airborne acquisition instrumentation in the field. Undertake in-field quality control processing of gravity gradient, GPS, magnetometer and laser ranging data. Manage Project field acquisition projects as required including mobilization/demobilization, survey planning, client liaison, and liaison with the aircraft operator. Maintain effective communications with Central Office. Contribute to the documentation of field procedures and survey reports. Supervise and schedule the work of the field crew in a productive, efficient, and safe manner.

Required skills:

  • A BS or MS degree in Geology/Geophysics or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of field experience on an airborne geophysical crew
  • Self motivated individual with strong communication and presentation skills as well as leadership capability
  • Able to lead a small multi-disciplinary team which is based at the crew location
  • Willing to travel and work in a field environment (6/3 week rotation)
  • Knowledge of gravity and magnetometer instrumentation as well as their operation
  • Knowledge of GeoSoft and GM-Sys, software is a plus

Location:

Initially - Field Operations in North America, then Worldwide. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time, permanent basis.
