Marine Gravity and Magnetic Acquisition

Insist on the best technology

When acquiring marine gravity and magnetic data, it pays to use the best. And in our experience that means Austin Exploration Inc of Houston.

Austin Exploration Inc. utilizes both LaCoste & Romberg air damped gravity meters with digital acquisition and control systems and ZLS fluid damped dynamic gravity meters for marine data acquisition.

They are currently the only contractor in the world to offer the newly developed ZLS Fluid Damped Dynamic Marine Gravity Meters, which have no cross coupling inherent in older beam-type gravity meters.

This breakthrough technology utilizes fluid damping to give better data quality, especially during bad sea conditions.

All of their marine gravity equipment is "state of the art" and periodically checked by the factory to insure optimum performance in the field.

Magnetic data are recorded using either Geometric G-801 proton precession magnetometers (standard towing configuration) or Marine Magnetics "SeaSpy" Overhauser magnetometers.

The "SeaSpy" magnetometer can be used in either a standard tow configuration or the sensor can be towed from the seismic contractors' gun array with minimal interfacing.
